Welcome,
I started Treat Me Fair Initiative for more reasons than one. When George Floyd took his last breath on national television was one of the saddest things I had ever witnessed on television. As a black American female, I was born and raised in Philadelphia Pennsylvania and for me believed in the American dream. I believed that this land is your land and my land, that there is opportunity for all people. I was taught by my mother that you should not be judged by the color of your skin but by the character you demonstrate. That the city I know as my birthplace was the city of Brotherly Love. I was taught that the American flag was raised and held high for ALL Americans.
We are in the 21st Century and a lot has changed for the better, but we still face the same challenges every Ethnicity faced coming to America, Jewish, Italian, Polish, Spanish, Asian, African Americans and all ethnicity’s. We face the ugly truth of RACISM and social disparities and I want to do my part to end this stigma that has devalued so many for far too long. Treat Me Fair Initiative is committed to Listen, Learn and Take Action. We want to be that beacon of hope. We will continue to help bridge the communal gaps between our Police departments and our communities. We will create and continue new and innovative education workshops, adult, and youth programs which allows us to strengthen the knowledge of the community. Our programs teach how to recognize racism and how to combat and diffuse it. We support all social and economic problems our communities face with housing, food, health care, domestic violence and so many other issues our society is plagued with.
As you enjoy the services on our website, know that we want to see you, we want to hear from you, let us know how we can be of assistance and if we can not help you it is our mission to find the resource for you. Knowing the challenges that your community has will allow us to bring awareness and provide solutions. One of the things I have taught my children is that everyone wants to be heard but make sure what you are saying is comprehensible. I want to hear you as to be heard!
A special thank you to my Board Members for their support an unwavering dedication to our mission. I want to personally thank the future Sponsors, Volunteers, and Community for your support.
Be Blessed,
Tasha Mack
