RACISM! Showing it’s ugliness again.
Have you ever been called a RACIST or accused of being a RACIST because of your appearance and not your ethnicity?
Meet Stephanie who works at Burger King! We were at the drive through on Sunday and after placing our order we pulled up to pay and there Stephanie was with a very upsetting look on her face. She gave me the total and then spit out I WAS JUST DISCRIMINATED AGAINST. I said OH NO, what happened, she said one second pull over I will bring your food to you. So after paying and before pulling over I mentioned, “it’s ironic you said this to us” and I announced who I was and the organization we have that brings awareness to issues like this, I told Stephanie thank you for sharing your story with me and she preceded I asked if I could take her picture and use it for our website, she said yes and continued. So Stephanie went on to say how her customer called her RACIST for how the customer felt Stephanie had treating her, that the customer had to wait for her food so Stephanie took another order while the customer was waiting and apparently the customer did not like Stephanie’s demeanor. Stephanie was upset since she is Black and Hispanic and the incident with her customer left her feeling unsatisfied since the customer started yelling and screaming at her calling her a racist. Stephanie works in customer service and the customer left her store very upset and Stephanie felt that she was the blame for the circumstance since Stephanie plays a manager roll in her store.
So does having a bad attitude or a certain demeanor towards an issue, topic, or circumstance make you RACIST when you do not have the same skin appearance as someone else? Are we so easily triggered since people of color have been discriminated against for so long that it’s hard to discern when someone has a bad attitude, difference in opinion or is misunderstood a RACIST?
