HOMELESSNESS

MISTER 1 AND MISTER 2

Our outreach services continue to ignite a feeling of ” KEEP DOING WHAT YOU DO.”
This week we met Mister 1 and Mister 2. Mister 1 was a black man who when we approached had his bag of belongings tucked nicely under a tree and was on his way to retrieve some items. When approached he was friendly enough to accept the invitation of assistance and a few questions. I asked him how long he was homeless and why he thought he was homeless? His answer was sad for us to hear but earnest. Mister 1 had been in foster homes from 2 yrs old to teen years and the streets from my understanding became his habitat. He said he had been abused since he was a kid and had depression and PTSD diagnosed from those experiences.
Mister 2 was a white man who didn’t have much to say other than really stressing the need for help. He wanted food and money and was from where I was standing humbling begging. He said he had been homeless for 9 months but when he has money he can go to one of the rescues to pay and stay or a place that charges him per day to sleep on the floor. They were both very grateful for the services TMFI was able to provide for them and so were we.

  2. After I initially commented I appear to have clicked the
-Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and now every
time a comment is added I get 4 emails with the same comment.

There has to be a means you are able to remove me from that service?
    Cheers!
