911 is a day in history I will never forget. I remember what I was doing like it was yesterday when the horrific attacks happened. I was working for a Internal Medicine practice and it was my 2nd Childs first day of kindergarten and where she went to school was right across the street from my work so I dropped her off and walked into the office where patients were in the lobby watching tv and waiting to see the doctor. As I am approaching the waiting room, I hear sounds of freight. I join in with everyone watching the smoke filled television asking, what is going on! Speechless is the room I am able to catch up by observation. As I proceed to enter the office to start work I quickly mention, that building looks like it’s going to fall. I go into the office to start work and not even five minutes later we hear screams from the waiting room saying the buildings had collapsed. It was unimaginable, we all ran back into the waiting room, jaws wide open in full disbelief and we now have seen full coverage of all that went down that horrific, horrific day!
As we continue to mourn, commemorate, and heal from that day of devastation below are some Oral Histories of that fatal day! God Bless the many lives suffering from PTSD, abandonment, angry, loneliness and sorrow. I pray for eventual healing.
