Breast cancer is found in men too, and because it is rare it usually is found in the later stage. Here are some symptoms to look for with breast cancer in men:
Painless lump or thickening of the skin on the chest.
Changes to the nipple. The nipple might turn inward or become discolored. It can also start scaling.
Nipple discharge or bleeding can happen.
Changes to the skin covering the chest might start dimpling, puckering or scaling.
If you notice any changes in your chest you should see your doctor. So why is it that men can also get breast cancer? According to the Mayo Clinic, we are all born with a small amount of breast tissue, and breast tissue consists of milk producing glands, ducts that carry milk to the nipples and fat. Female breast tissue will continue to grow, whereas male breast tissue usually does not. Since everyone is born with the breast tissue hence why men can get breast cancer. Below is the link to learn more about how to try and prevent cancer, and which kinds of cancers grow in the breast of men.
Spreading the word, advocating for others, and donating of ourselves in anyway that we can, we will continue to bring awareness to this very important and resistant disease.
