TMFI- LOOKING FORWARD!!! CELEBRATING BLACK HISTORY MONTH!!!!

So last week we took a look back into history so this week I wanted to look forward. I wanted to compare where we are in terms of freedom, justice, and equality. So these articles are for you to enjoy and ask yourself, What is the purpose of putting one foot in front of the other and paving a way for our future bright leaders? For me the answer is quite simple, the doors I am able to open for someone make it that much easier for them to open it for someone else. The one article is about The Tulsa Race Massacre and from what I have read, massacre is a perfect word to describe what started on Memorial Day, May 30, 1921. Dick Rowland was his name, a shoe shiner going to take a bathroom break, which we all know back then you couldn’t just use any bathroom, people of color were assigned to specific bathrooms. So I will leave it right there and let you enjoy the article. lets just say we know for sure a lot has changed in that department, fast forward we no longer have a racial barrier for restrooms we also have unisex restrooms and gender neutral restrooms in 2022!!! I also want to mention our cover photo which represents so many of our women of color who have opened doors for us and is now allowing us to dream bigger, given us the desire to educate ourselves, showing us that with will and determination our voices will be heard, and our contributions are acknowledged!!!! Thank you to the National Archives for your notable citing and the editors for the write ups. T. https://rediscovering-black-history.blogs.archives.gov/2022/01/05/top-5-2021/
