TMFI- LOVE THY NEIGHBOR!!!!! A CLICHE!!!!!

We hear and we are taught to Love Thy Neighbor, but do we verb the saying? Whether we learn it in church,(religious order), our parents, teachers or mentors we are reminded to Love Thy Neighbor! Ok so let’s break down a bit what it means to Love Thy Neighbor. To me, the term, phrase, saying means to, be kind, get along, do unto others as you would want them to do unto to you (and I don’t mean to want to be left alone). But what does it mean to you? So why is it so hard for people to follow the “golden rule?” Do we use our lawful constitutions however we chose to? If we are comfortable with the neighbor then we extend the olive branch? But if we have any prejudice to our “neighbor” then we turn away? I’ve been told that it’s easier said than to do or I don’t like people enough to love them, or the best one yet, I do love thy neighbor, internally through spirituality. But if we want to make a difference in the world we live in and I mean really make a difference then shouldn’t we open up our minds to the idea of vulnerability? Vulnerability in the sense of exposure. Exposing ourselves to judgement freedom, the idea of jealous freedom, prestige freedom, privilege freedom, and all idea’s of ISM’s!!! Can we relax the idea that the highest social, education or money status we have means superiority . Are we so disconnected from each other that we can’t give a friendly hello neighbor, a smile in your local store neighbor, hold the door for your neighbor? If we can extend the olive branch to our neighbors than we can progress as one human race, look forward to a future of inclusion so that we are in a better position when we are faced with adversity. Ask yourself, if you were in danger or desperation are you comfortable asking anyone for help? If your answer is no then you might also want to consider Loving Thy Neighbor!!!! T.
