TMFI- OH’ WHAT A YEAR!!!!!! THIS IS HOW WE DID IT!!!!!!

2023 OH’ what a year it has been at TMFI serving and educating our community. Our year started with the Black History Month Campaign and sorry to say it was a flop! We were looking forward to give a deserving student $250 bucks but no one step up for the initiative. Well, better engagement next time!!!! We will be looking at innovative ways to bring that initiative to life! Next up, Our Easter Egg Hunt and WOWZA what a success!!! We partnered with The Salvation Army and provided their Sunday School students with an award winning Hunt. We had a blast and the students and staff did too. We then gained traction with revising our Police and Community Initiative to include giving back to our men in blue, firefighters, and 1st responders and that was not only rewarding it was all so deserving to them. Working in health care I know first hand how much is involved in caring for others and risks involved. BRAVO to our Men in Blue, Firefighters, and 1st Responders for all that you do for us!!! Then we had our Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign that is always thought out and carefully planned, unfortunately our day in the park wasn’t as interactive as we had anticipated. Again another initiative we will delve into for success measures. We provided outreach services to families in need, that weren’t homeless but in need of food support and TMFI was there with open arms. We ordered food and had it delivered to an inbound family. We provided Coach Counseling support for a family so that they are now able to navigate daily tasks successfully and know and understand how to use the government portals for benefit support with training by me and it was a pleasure to assist. We delivered groceries and got to know and build relationships with the community. Our last initiative was our Thanksgiving Turkey Drive and WOWZA it was all that and more. We serviced 3 communities in our area and provided 30 dinners which included, turkey, stuffing, veggie, cranberry sauce, and dessert. Spending time with the community is one of the reasons I enjoy volunteering my time for TMFI. If I am able to lend a hand to someone in need then my purpose is met. We enjoyed each event and we are so thankful to our Sponsors continued support and generosity. It really does take a team of people to be successful and it takes building relationships to maintain succession. I am thankful for my volunteers at TMFI that continuously rise to the occasion, without there support it wouldn’t be a success. Ginger, Maya, Shela, James, Bud, JayMack, and Yvonne, I want to say Thank You you guys ROCKED this year!!! DisneyEars, THANK YOU! TARGET, THANK YOU! PUBLIX, THANK YOU! DOMINOS PIZZA, THANK YOU! You have been monumental in TMFI’S success and we couldn’t do what we do without you. I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and Holiday Season.
